Jordan discovered her calling while caring for animals at the East Bay SPCA animal shelter. Each day brought puppies with parvovirus, kittens with panleukopenia, pets recovering from fires, and animals with severe injuries. Seeing how vulnerable they were sparked a desire to do more than provide comfort. She wanted the knowledge and skills to help them heal, and that passion led her to veterinary medicine.
One experience has remained with Jordan ever since. While cleaning kennels, she noticed an older Maltipoo named Madonna behaving differently than usual. Instead of greeting her at the front of the kennel, Madonna was lying down and unable to stand. Jordan immediately carried her to the shelter medicine team, where emergency treatment revealed a severe infection. The team later told Jordan that her quick actions had saved Madonna’s life. That moment reinforced how important careful observation can be and confirmed she was exactly where she belonged.
Jordan graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor of Science in Biology before continuing her career in animal care. After gaining experience in shelter medicine, she joined Marina Village Veterinary in December 2025, where she was excited to expand her knowledge of both traditional and integrative veterinary medicine. As our Veterinary Assistant, she especially enjoys collecting laboratory samples, assisting with diagnostics, and helping doctors identify the best treatment plans for each patient.
Outside the hospital, Jordan enjoys baking everything from cinnamon rolls to cookies, a hobby she learned alongside her grandmother as a child. She loves sharing homemade treats with family and friends and hearing them ask for another batch. At home, she and her boyfriend, Sebastian, share life with their dog, Theo, whose playful personality keeps them laughing every day. From showing off tricks to negotiating for bites of chicken or cream cheese, Theo is a constant reminder of the joy animals bring into people’s lives.
