Sometimes the best career decisions are the ones that are never part of the original plan. For Tonya, veterinary medicine began with a single interview in 2019 at a clinic specializing in dermatology for animals.. She accepted the opportunity on a whim, unsure where it might lead. It did not take long for her to realize she had found a profession that felt meaningful, rewarding, and far more fulfilling than working in human medicine.
As she spent more time helping pet owners and welcoming patients through the doors each day, Tonya discovered that every interaction mattered. Whether greeting a nervous family, helping them feel at ease, or sharing excitement over a happy, healthy visit, she found genuine purpose in creating a positive experience for both people and their pets.
After taking time away from veterinary medicine to raise her children, Tonya knew she wanted to return to the field she had grown to love. She continued building her experience at Gateway Pet Hospital in Dublin before transferring to VCA Broadway. She recently joined Marina Village Veterinary and is excited to begin this new chapter as the newest member of the team.
As the Client Service Representative at Marina Village Veterinary, Tonya especially enjoys meeting dogs and cats of every personality and making each visit as welcoming as possible. She believes the front desk is often the first step in building trust with families, and she enjoys helping create an environment where both pets and their owners feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
Tonya is always eager to continue learning, growing, and building relationships with clients and patients. She looks forward to being the familiar face for families who visit the hospital and helping make every appointment a positive experience. For Tonya, working with animals is more than a job. It is where she feels happiest, and she is grateful to spend each day doing work that brings together compassion, connection, and care.
